NEW CONTENT

SPELLCASTERS

  • Technomancer: Straight from Telossa, the Technomancer enters the Arena, wielding thunder and ensouled steel. Encased in a ritualized machine-shell, he channels electricity to empower his creations and support his allies, driven by one belief: mortals bow to no one.
    • Dev Comment: We are super happy to introduce the first Spellcaster since the initial cast. The Technomancer introduces a wide range of new tools, offering players multiple ways to approach battles. We’re excited to see how you will make use of these new possibilities.

CREATURES

  • War Drummer: Support unit that boosts allies’ speed and shares its element boost when infused.
    • Dev Comment: This Creature allows you to boost your army, even if they are already infused with an element. Your Earth Golem isn’t resistant enough? You think Rhino Riders are too slow? The War Drummer opens new possibilities. Let’s see your craziest combos!

SPELLS

  • Black Hole: Void sphere that pulls enemies in and deals increasing damage.
    • Dev Comment: This Rank III Spell offers a new tool to handle swarms of Creatures, as well as the first damaging AoE for the Astral School of Magic. It can also be used to deal with larger Creatures thanks to its controlling effect.

SPELLS

  • Trap: Invisible trap that explodes on contact.
    • Dev Comment: This new Building can slow and surprise enemies, which makes it a good option to slow down armies and big Creatures. We are pleased to release this Building along with the Technomancer, as we expect it to be a fitting Incantation for him.

ARENA

  • Mausoleum - Night variant: The Mausoleum Arena now also comes with a new theme: “Night and Fire”.
    • Neutral Creatures and Astral Towers are already infused with Fire.
    • New packs of Creatures on the Altars and Camps.
    • The map features a permanently destroyed bridge from the start of the match.
    • Items dropped in Chests are different from Mausoleum - Day variant.
    • The Boss is now a Fire-infused Catapult that drops a defensive buff when killed.
      • Dev Comment: As we introduce this new map variant, we have taken a different approach to Level Design. First, we have set a theme that defines the types of Creatures you can encounter. Then we added gameplay or Level Twist. The goal was to encourage players to rethink/re-invent their deck, as the layer they are used to playing on has changed. On Mausoleum by Night, for example, we want to test some asymmetrical changes by removing one of the bridges. One team will have an early-game advantage, while the other will be stronger in the late game. Expect more and more changes of that style over time, as we have a lot of ideas we want to share with you!

GAMEPLAY

GAME RULES CHANGES

  • Cast Stone: Reduced the maximum ammo granted when the Incantation is already owned (Rank I & II).
  • Respawn time slightly increased.
    • Dev Comment: Mid-game respawn times were becoming too short, reducing the overall tactical impact of killing Spellcasters.
  • Fixed an issue where upgrades & some bonuses were multiplied instead of being added. This correction reduces unintended extreme damage scaling and removes part of the previous high-end Titan damage cap (Now reduces by 50% any damage exceeding 15,000).

BALANCING

  • Spider Queen: Now spawns Ruin Spiders on death (13 Spiders), following a community vote.
    • Dev Comment: The community has spoken. The Spider Queen’s fate has been decided by your vote, and the tapestry now reflects this choice.
  • Boss Creatures: All Boss Creatures now have a damage cap, making them more resistant against high damage Spells.
  • Elemental Explosion: (When a Creature is affected by Poison or Fire and is exposed to the other element, an explosion is triggered)

Damage has been reworked to include flat and max HP-based scaling instead of flat values only:

    • Rank I : 30 + 1% max HP.
    • Rank II : 60 + 2% max HP.
    • Rank III : 90 + 2.5% max HP.
    • Rank IV : 120 + 5% max HP.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Added key rebinding support for the 5th Incantation in Keybind Settings.
  • A new short introduction video has been added to Tutorial, introducing the match and its core gameplay elements.
  • Buildings: Improved texture render quality for all Buildings you can summon.
  • Textures Optimizations for better performances.
  • Improved Spellcaster animation transitions to make them visually smoother.
  • Improved locomotion animation for various Creatures.
  • Various VFXs have been optimized to decrease GPU and CPU load. (Infusion, Spells and Incantations, Projectiles, Environment props and Buildings).

  • Update spatial audio tech for reverbs and ambient sounds (caves in Kamazad).
  • New UI sound effects for the deckbuilding menu and shop.
